The mentoring process within BNI has helped in many ways. From gaining practical advice, encouragement and support to learning how to maximise the return on our investment and gain the most from BNI from an experienced member. I’ve always found my mentor to be professional, friendly and interested in my businesses success. My mentor has helped me to develop strategies for developing relationships with key businesses that have unlocked revenue streams for us. I’m very grateful to my mentor!

Becoming a member 

During the process of applying to become a member of BNI Compton the leadership team and others are working behind the scenes to plan your success. One such area is that of allocating a mentor to not only help you in your first 6 weeks but long into the future.  
 
The current Mentor Coordinator is Helen Battrick. Your mentor, overseen by Helen, is selected on who will help you achieve success as quickly as possible. 
 
A weekly accountability email is sent to you and your mentor to help you cover each area. Within your first month the group will fund your training within the region namely ‘Member success program’ this accelerates your development and help you give and receive referrers quicker. 
Your mentor will become your friend and have weekly calls and ideally fortnightly one to one meetings – how tightly your mentor holds your hand is guided by you. 
 
Helen will oversee your relationship to encourage the right amount of interaction – we are all there to support you. 
 
As a new member of BNI I found the mentoring programme extremely beneficial. The Member Success Programme (MSP) was well structured, informative and proved to be a great introduction to BNI. 
 
The training helped me to focus on what I want out of BNI and gave me guidance on how to achieve my monetary goals; through succinct and informative 60 seconds, structured 1-2-1s and the utilisation of my power team. 
 
Compton’s Mentor Coordinator, Berkeley Harris excels at matching each new member with a mentor that he feels is best suited to their area of business. My mentor, Helen Battrick has been incredibly helpful and supportive in her guidance and advice. We have met regularly to discuss the weekly mentoring programme action points and Helen attended the MSP training with me offering moral support which was greatly appreciated. Helen has been a member of BNI for 14 years and I believe she also found the training valuable in reinforcing her BNI behaviours.
